Batura Lake came into existence because the Batura glacier wore off and ran off. It is one of the most famous and beautiful lakes in Pakistan (Gilgit Baltistan region). Batura Glacier is one of the largest glaciers outside of the polar regions.

This enchanting lake is known for its scenic views because it’s surroundings includes the frames of Passu cones and Batura Glacier peaks. This view is second to none, making it one of Pakistan’s most beautiful and famous lakes.
The Batura Glacier and the Passu Cones provide the perfect backdrop to this enchanting lake.
Batura Lake Location
It is located in the upper Hunza region of Gilgit Baltistan. Batura Glacier is 57km long and spread over 285 sq km approximately. This Lake is found near the edge of Batura Glacier, the edge is also covered with mountain debris. It can be witnessed from the Karkorum highway after crossing the Passu village.
Distance
The distance from the capital city of Islamabad is about 653km. While the distance from Hunza is about 60km.
